Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Review and Demo

Younique Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes review

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic Tuesday! Earlier this evening I uploaded a full review and demo on the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes! This is a two-step mascara kit that gives a flawless result. Here is a quick review on the product and what the steps entail.

The Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes is a two-step process mascara. For $29 USD, the kit comes with two different types of wands that are used together to give long, full and voluminous lashes.

One of the first things I always look at with products, especially if it's a product I am trying from a brand for the first time, is the packaging. Younique did a great job with the packaging for this kit. The tubes are sleek with a matte black finish - simple but chic.

The Process

The process is very simple with three easy steps.
Step one: Coat your lashes as you would with any mascara with the Transplanting Gel. This gel is a medium sized wand that coats your lashes just like a regular mascara would. For the next step to work really well I highly suggest taking your time and ensuring you coat all your lashes evenly.

Step two: Taking the Fiber Wand brush onto the transplanting gel while it is still wet. I learned on the first eye that you do have to move quite quickly onto this next step to get the best results. The fiber wand did create quite a bit of fallout on the face, but fortunately did not leave any residue or marks - it brushed away effortlessly.

Step three: Lock in the fibers with the transplanting gel once more. This will ensure the fibers don't fall off the lashes and polish off the look.

Depending on your time and desire look for your lashes, you can repeat steps one to three as many times as you like. Personally, I was really happy with the results after completing the steps twice.

Overall I think this is an excellent mascara. It gives such great results and looks like you are wearing a natural false lash. The only downside to the kit is that it is a lengthy process - but highly worth it. Giving yourself an extra five to ten minutes for this will improve the appearance of your lashes and overall makeup look. I think this is a great kit for everyday, natural makeup looks because it won't be as harsh on your lashes as false mascara.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation and Concealer Review

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation and concealer packaging

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and are as excited for 2017 as I am. One of my big resolutions for 2017 is to be more consistent here on my blog with makeup reviews, tutorials and outfit posts.

Today's review is all about the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation and concealer! I do have a full video on my YouTube channel so be sure to check that out to see a full demo using the products.

This was a random purchase for me in a recent drugstore haul. What immediately gravitated me towards the foundation was the packaging. The foundation comes in a squeeze tube, which is becoming a more common form of packaging for foundation and I am personally a huge fan. I find that squeeze tubes are really clean and you don't waste product. Once I decided I wanted to try out the foundation, I also grabbed the matching concealer.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation

The foundation is sold anywhere between $7 to $10 dollars at local drugstores - I picked mine up at WalMart. The shade selection could be better, but it does come in a decently wide variety of 12 shades. I personally matched myself at 220 soft honey and love the match on my skin. (I am normally a Mac NC 30).

The Ready Set Gorgeous foundation has a lightweight formula geared towards oily to combination skin types. I personally believe that if you do have normal to dry skin you can also give this foundation a try with a hydrating primer. The foundation provides a medium coverage that sets to a soft matte finish and lasts on average six to seven hours before having to touch up with powder.

Overall, I love the coverage this foundation gives. I think it is a great everyday foundation that will cover up blemishes, redness and uneven skin but will leave your natural beauty marks and freckles showing.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer

The concealer is sold at the same price as the foundation - again I got mine at WalMart. The shade selection for the concealer is fairly good with six shades ranging from fair to deep. I got the shade light and find it a bit too light for concealing blemishes but like it to highlight certain areas of the face including under the eyes. To match the foundation the shade light/medium would be more fitting.

The concealer gives off great coverage under the eyes and actually cancels any discolouration such as blue tones. It is lightweight, and when set correctly it doesn't crease either. It lasted all day long on the skin without breaking up.

Altogether, I highly recommend the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous line - note: the line does come with a face powder as well. The foundation and concealer are great quality drugstore products and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great, reliable everyday products.

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! My weekend was very relaxing and got the chance to film and create lots of content for the blog and YouTube channel, which is exciting. On a not so exciting note, we did get over 15cm of snow in the past 24-hours - I think it's safe to say, winter has arrived!

Recently, I filmed a makeup tutorial using this palette and received lots of comments to do a review.
Here is a quick review on the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario! If you're wondering who Mario Dedivanovic is, he is a celebrity makeup artist, especially known for the Kardashian's makeup and is a total MUA genius! Check out his Instagram here for his looks.

As always, the palette has gorgeous packaging. Anastasia Beverly Hills never fails to deliver beautiful palettes inside and out. The gold and black sleek packaging has 12 warm toned shadows with a few pops of colours - midnight blue, olive green and some berries. If you are someone who loves working with warm-toned shadows, then this palette is definitely for you.

This palette is limited edition and currently is sold out online - sorry!! - But I recently got mine in store! If you are hoping to get your hands on this palette, do check your local Sephora's because there's a chance they might have a few left.  The palette is sold for $59 CAD

I own multiple palettes from ABH and noticed that these shadows were very similar in texture, pigmentation and overall quality. The matte shades are pigmented and easy to blend on the eyes, and you also have a great range of crease shades, transition shades and some deeper shades to intensify looks. The shimmers are also excellent quality - very pigmented and some such as 5TH AVE and MARINA give off a metallic feel to the eye which is stunning for the holiday season.

This palette was released shortly after the much loved ABH Modern Renaissance palette and a lot fo people compared the palettes. Here are  the two palettes side by side.

Overall, I do think that these palettes are different and both bring something different to the table. While the Modern Renaissance palette concentrates on pink-mauve tones, the Master Palette by Mario has more warm-toned earth shades.

Thanks for reading!

Review: Morphe X Kathleen Lights Palette

Hello!! Long time no blog! I have been a busy bee producing a lot of content over on my YouTube and Instagram platforms so be sure to go check me out there if you haven't already! Now on to today's review.

She’s done it again! Famous YouTube beauty guru, Kathleen Lights has released several popular collabs with cosmetics brands such as Colourpop, Ofra and Makeup Geek. This time, Kathleen teamed up with Morphe Brushes to release a new eyeshadow palette.

The day of the palette launch this hot ticket item at $14.99 sold out in just a few hours. Recently, KathleenLights and Morphe Brushes announced that they will be releasing more palettes before the holidays... any minute now.

When I got my hands on my palette, I decided to film a first impressions video on my channel because two reasons: I was so excited I wanted to use the palette right away and because it was my first time ever using Morphe shadows. You can watch my first impressions video here!

Today, I decided to give it a bit of an update and complete review on my blog. The palette contains 15 coloured eyeshadows ranging from warm toned browns to plum-mauves and even a few green shades. The palette is quite versatile as you can create quite a few looks.

Look One

Look Two

Morphe shadows receive a lot of mixed reviews, which is one reason why I never purchased (alongside the expensive international shipping). I was pleasantly surprised when I went to swatch the shadows in the palette for the first time. The matte shadows are pigmented, creamy and very blendable while the shimmer shadows are also very pigmented and don't produce much fallout.

For the price, I think the packaging is great. You all know how I feel about eye shadow palettes that don't come with a mirror. It's a big thumb down for me. But since this palette contains 15 shadows at only $14.99 I can forgive them for the lack of a mirror. The packaging is slim and compact making it easy to bring with you and the versatility inside allows for multiple looks if you are going to be away from your full collection.

If you didn't get the chance to snag this palette the day it was released I highly suggest trying for the next launch because this palette is absolutely stunning and has great quality for a very reasonable price.
